WHO WE ARE

We are the organization for business owners and employees interested in the protection and defense of individual liberties and free market principles in Utah.

Many organizations and associations exist to serve various needs within the business community and they frequently serve their members well, doing good and important work.

We are unique as an organization that focuses exclusively on the most fundamental building blocks of economic success, which include individual liberty, self-determination, and free markets.

The promise of America is built on the understanding that unalienable rights are not given by government, but rather that the fundamental role of government is simply to protect and defend them.

INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

Basic civil rights exist independent of government and cannot be given and withdrawn at will. The purpose of government is to protect those rights, not control individuals through them.

FREE MARKET PRINCIPLES

We often, somewhat erroneously, refer to free markets as a "system." Capitalism and free markets are simply names we use to describe individuals engaging in commerce, and are a far cry from the bureaucratically-designed systems that consistently make the majority of people poorer and tightly hold power for those at the top. The freedom of self-determination, free minds, free markets, and the opportunity to make our own way has delivered more people out of poverty than all the United Nations, national, state, county, and city run government programs combined. We must preserve the ability of individuals to achieve earned success in an economy that rewards hard work and innovation.

EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY

None of us has the right to an equal outcome in life or circumstance. In America, the recognition and protection of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness amounts to a right of equal opportunity. We defend this right and support those who desire to better their circumstances and those of their family through personal initiative, hard work, and innovation.
