The American Dream is not only an idea; it is a promise.
It is a promise that has been honored every second of every day since the grand American experiment began on July 4, 1776.Underlying that dream is the most basic of concepts — that of freedom and liberty, that we are all created equal with unalienable rights that government cannot grant but that our republic, the United States of America, will protect and defend ... for all of us.
Basic civil rights exist independent of government and cannot be given and withdrawn at will. The purpose of government is to protect those rights, not control individuals through them.
Free Market Principles
The freedom of self-determination, free minds, free markets and the opportunity to make our own way has delivered more people out of poverty than all the United Nations, national, state, county, and city run government programs COMBINED.Is it difficult to improve one’s station in life and achieve a level of success many born in other parts of the world cannot even comprehend? Of course. Does it require dedication, sacrifice and hard work? Absolutely! The harder the better. There is a mindset and a confidence, born of hard-earned success, that can come no other way.
Equality of Opportunity
In America, none of us have the right to an equal outcome in life or circumstance. In America, the recognition and protection of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness amounts to a right of equal opportunity. There is no caste system. There is no ascension by royal bloodline, to the chagrin of some. Every single person who has the desire to better their circumstances and those of their family has the opportunity to do so. For now.
